THE THAR's LEGACY

Every time we talk about something raw, powerful and flexible related to the cars, there is always one car which slays through out the Indian market for a long time now, The Mahindra Thar !. The first generation Thar came out on 2010 to fill the void left by its predecessor, the Mahindra MM540. Right after that the car became super favorite among everyone one of us, the indian audience finally got their hands on this car for some real off-road experiences along side with its unique features and looks on offer, and from there onward the craze of Thar in India started to grow.
Mahinda came a long way with their first generation Thar, and therefore they launched the Thar's facelift last year which is also an absolute stunner in all ways. Thar 2020 had been through quite a lot of changes in terms of the looks as well as performance, resistance and power.

The car looks fantastic indeed, with few things still reminding where it came from or how its predecessor was, the traditional grill looks very well now assisted with two of the LED DRLs (daytime running lamps), and other halogen headlamps and indicators, looks perfectly well. Lots of  "Thar" badging at the side, rear and front of the car. The engine comes of two types "2.0 L mStallion turbo petrol" and "2.2 L mHawk turbo diesel" with both 6-speed, automatic and manual transmission. The all-terrain tyres are massive coming with 255/65 18s. At the back, the tail lights units are LEDs now and the others are not of course, the spare wheel is likely to be on the tail gate where you get a full size alloy wheel.

The attention to details on this car is just crazy, you just can't finish them exploring. The car gets very good interesting features, gets driver and passenger airbags, Automatic climate control, 4x4 Drive type, Traction control, Down hill driving and other modes. There are three types of roof to choose from- Hard top, Soft top or convertible.

The car gets 8 inch touchscreen from where you can access to carplay and other options. One of its most interesting and crazy feature is that you can actually remove the doors whenever you feel like and that is why the power windows button is not on the door instead they are on the center of the car from where you can get to access them. The rear passengers have to do a little hard work as such to go to the back of the car by pulling the lever on the left passenger side's seat.

When you lock the car generally the indicators blinks, same goes for this car but when you unlock the car, the Thar's front DRL also blinks with the tail lights at the back which is very much attractive and noticeable.

The interior is great on offer in terms of the looks and the features, the car has a total space of 4 people to sit, though the rear seats are not soo much comfortable but are very decent in terms of the head, leg, knee room. The front seats are very much comfortable as such, they got good cushioning, head room and under thigh support are very much comfortable indeed. At the passenger's side, you get a holding support in case of steeper roads or for off- roading. The view you get from the front seats is actually much above from the ground for which you also get a side footstep for to assist you to get inside of the car.

Overall this car is just absolutely crazy in terms of all the aspects, where you can perfectly experience the off- road conditions and get the power too, which generally requires to go off-road, also in the city you can cruise easily on the roads, with the car having a massive look which literally never gets old.
